The Universal Language: Zamenhof, Jews and the Making of EsperantoEsther Schor, author, poet, and professor of English at Princeton University explores the Esperanto movement, invented by L.L. Zemenhof, in 1887, as a modern, emancipated Jew's answer to an ancient quandary; how might language itself be used to promote understanding among nations and peoples?
